Tympanometry
Measurement of middle ear function and eardrum mobility for accurate diagnosis.

What does this service offer?
Ear, Nose & Throat
Tympanometry measures the mobility of the eardrum and the function of the middle ear by applying small changes in air pressure. This test helps in the diagnosis of otitis media, middle ear effusion, Eustachian tube dysfunction and pathologies of the ossicular chain.
Why Choose This Service?
The test provides quick and accurate diagnosis of otitis and middle ear pathologies, with early detection of middle ear effusion.
The results are immediate, the procedure is completely painless and requires no special preparation from the patient.

How Is the Treatment Carried Out?
First, otoscopy is performed to check the ear canal and the eardrum.
A probe is then placed in the ear canal, which applies small pressure changes and measures the response of the eardrum.
The tympanogram is recorded automatically and interpreted on the spot, giving the patient results and explanations immediately.
